Blue Beautifly Certified Organic Lip Balm protects the lips from the sun, wind, cold, or dry conditions with its nutrient-rich oils, butters, and botanical extracts.
Organic Beet Root. With vitamins A and C, folate, allantoin, minerals, amino and fatty acids, and antioxidants, it combats the appearance of lines, protects from free radical damage and UV rays.
Alkanet Root Extract. With its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and astringent properties, it softens, purifies, and enlivens lips with its natural pink tint.
Organic Jojoba Oil. Fortified with vitamins A, B, and E, omega-3 fatty acids, minerals, and flavonoids, jojoba oil shields the skin from oxidative stress to prevent premature signs of aging. Mirroring the skin’s natural sebum, it moisturizes, pampers, and harmonizes for a nourished and age-resistant complexion.
Vitamin E (Non-GMO). A potent antioxidant, vitamin E strengthens skin’s renewal function while preventing dryness, itchiness, redness, and flaking. It diminishes the appearance of scars and improves texture.

Frequently Asked Questions
For lip balms, I’m used to roll-on applicators or sticks. Why is you lip balm in a jar instead?
Two key considerations guided our decision to use glass jars instead of roll-on applicators or sticks:
- Less waste. Our glass jars are returnable via our Bottle Buy-Back program. So there is virtually no waste.
- Better value. Each of the two 0.5 oz (15 g) jars contains more than three times the amount of the common lip balm sticks on the market. With two jars in one package, you can enjoy a much lower product cost with significantly less packaging. A true win-win-win for all, including the planet.
Worried about contamination? Don’t be. As an anhydrous product (water-free), it is invulnerable to bacterial, fungal, or mold growth. So it’s every bit as safe as the sticks.
What gives the pinkish red color to Organic Beet Lip Balm?
I am concerned about the palm wax in this product. Is it sourced sustainably?
I see other colorants, such as carmine, CI 75470, cochineal extract, crimson lake, or natural red 4 in other lip balms. What is that all about?
They’re all fancy names for an insect-based colorant that is common among many lip balms and other cosmetic products.
Don’t know about you, but a lip balm ingredient made from crushed bugs is not our thing. Plus carmine coloring can cause an allergic reaction, even in small doses. For more information, check out these sites:
While on the topic of colorants, be super careful to avoid products with mineral colors as they can contain traces of heavy metals. Heavy metals can absorb through the skin or ingested through the mouth in lip products. There is nothing healthful about exposure to heavy metals.
A recent study, Evaluation of heavy metals in cosmetic products and their health risk assessment, concluded that daily exposure to products containing heavy metals may cause cumulative effects such as high risk of skin cancer and other chronic health disorders.
